Jennifer Harman

Jennifer got her start in poker at age 8 when her father asked her to join his home game. She performed so well he regularly asked her advice on tough decisions in future hands.

Jennifer tuned pro when she turned 21 slowly working her way up from middle limit games, always playing within her bankroll. Her prudent strategy paid off, gradually building her bankroll and moving to higher limts. She now regularly plays in the biggest cash games in the world, the $4,000/$8,000 mixed game at the Bellagio, with regular opponents Doyle Brunson, Chip Reese, Johnny Chan, and Phil Ivey.

While she prefers cash games Jennifer has had several tournament cashes. She owns 2 WSOP bracelets, amazingly winning the Deuce-to-Seven tournament without having played the game prior to the event. A few minutes coaching from Howard Lederer was all it took. Recent tournament successes include a second place finish at the WSOP Circuit event at the Rio, Las Vegas, and a fourth place finish at the WPT Five Diamond Classic at the Bellagio.

She lives in Las Vegas with her husband, fellow poker professional Marco Traniello.

In her own words:

“I had one losing year in poker back in 1993. It was a tough time for me. My life was going through some changes, and I guess they affected my focus at the poker table. I didn’t go totally broke, but close enough. I was playing $50-$100 hold’em at the Mirage at the time, so just to be safe, I borrowed $50,000 from a friend so that I had an adequate bankroll to continue playing in that game. I started to do much better after that, and paid the loan off pretty quickly. Since then, I haven’t had to worry much about my bankroll. I’ve always tried to stick to limits I can afford.”
